Happy New Year!
With a new year always comes a sense of putting the past year behind and moving forward in hope with new goals and a positive attitude.
My plan (resolution – whatever you would like to call it) for the year 2016 includes:
building a stronger relationship with God
take better care of myself
read and write more
finish my masters and put it to good use
make more time for family and friends
and stick to my plans/resolutions for 2016
The year 2015 was stress both personally and professionally. I went through a roller coaster ride of emotions and at one point that everything I had worked for would be gone and all that I had been blessed with would be lost… but that didn’t happen and I prevailed.
It wasn’t without a lot of tears, a lot of sleepless nights, hours of research and persistence, physical and mental strength, and standing up and fighting for what I believed in…
It is nothing to be praised for – I am no super hero by any means. I’m just a person who loves strongly, has a lot of faith in God, and doesn’t give up easily – even when I want to.
So, 2016 is going to be the year – finally. A year of hope, a year of success, a year for building important relationships and finding that forever balance between life and work.
Happy New Year!
I admit… I have pittie love.
Pittie love – a love for pitbull doggies.
My puppy, Leesi is a 5 month old Pitbull puppy. We got her when she was only 7 weeks old and fell in love with her instantly. Even before Leesi girl, I always loved Pitbulls and felt they definitely get a bad rap. I couldn’t agree more now that I have a pitbull family member.
Leesi is such a sweet natured girl. She is playful, affectionate, smart, and loyal. She loves everyone and we frequently get compliments on how well behaved she is and how much she seems to love everyone.
Today, I was thinking about how Pitbulls are banned in some countries, and in many areas across the United States. They are even banned in some apartment complexes. It makes me sad. She is such a loving pup and to think that she wouldn’t be allowed in certain areas or that people could be fearful of her.
I was watching her play today – so happy and sweet.
She rolled around today on the floor with her squeeky pig she got for Christmas. She loves that silly purple and pink pig. Her tail was wagging and she was a happy girl. She is such an important part of my life and has changed me in so many ways (and my boyfriend). I can’t imagine life without her.
I can only hope that one day, people will put aside their stereotypical thinking and see that Pitbulls are not all bad dogs. Any dog of any breed can be “bad” and any dog of any breed (including Pitbulls) can be sweet, loving doggies.
We are responsible pet owners… who enjoy taking our Khaleesi girl for long walks through our neighborhood. We also follow the stoop and scoop law and clean up after our girl.
It couldn’t be any easier, the home owners association provides us with “poo stations” for lack of better terms – with poo bags and a trash can.
But it doesn’t stop some of our neighbors from just ignoring their dog’s poo and leaving lying wherever it may drop – including the sidewalk, grass, road, mulch… need I go on?
It is obnoxious and disgusting.
We have to watch where we are walking to avoid stepping in it and… we have to make sure Khaleesi doesn’t come in contact because…
she will eat the poop.
Yep, she eats poop. And we have to dig it out of her mouth – good times.
We’ve seen one particular neighbor walking their dog and not once have we ever seen them actually clean up the dog’s poop. On top of it, they throw their own trash on the ground – plastic cups, paper…whatever.
I guess my point – it would just be nice if people would be considerate… do the right thing… or at the very least – follow the law.
Whine over… pass the real wine.
Need I say more?
I could end my whine here…
but I won’t.
Here it is…winter break. The Christmas holiday has just passed – which I spent with some family members who were wearing shorts, flip flops, and I even saw a few sundresses. Yes, the winter weather has been less like winter and more like spring.
I was slightly annoyed that it didn’t feel like Christmas. I mean, where was my snow? Where was the blustery weather that is supposed to to with the Christmas holiday? Was Santa wearing shorts and a Hawaiian shirt as he made his scheduled deliveries?
Seriously, it was a little annoying. And to top off the warmer weather was the continuous rain and muddy conditions left behind that came in with the higher temps.
We were out of town – meaning 2 hours away from where we live so there was no major weather difference between cities. We arrived home yesterday to a lovely breeze and high 60/low 70 degree weather. It was bliss (yes, bliss). I found myself enjoying a nice walk with my puppy. I could have stayed outside all afternoon long playing with her…
(So, am I annoyed by the warm weather or not…)
Today, I wake up to cold – yep, cold. Damp and cold weather – gloom and doom cloudy skies. And guess what – I was annoyed.
Where is the warm weather you’ve teased me with Mother Nature? I had to stop and wonder what was wrong with me – I’m annoyed when it is warm on Christmas and annoyed when it actually feels like December weather 3 days later…
I came to the conclusion that my annoyance wasn’t with whether it was warm or cold but the fact that the weather changes so drastically so quickly. We go from cold, full winter gear weather to wearing flip flops on Christmas back to blustery cold conditions in a matter of days…
Can’t we just have a little consistency and a gradual release to the colder temps or vice versa…
Whine over… pass the Moscato.
Really, this blog is just about me and my random daily thoughts – whether whine (complete annoyed nonsense) or cheese (complete”cheeseball” comments)… Or a combination of the two. Afterall, who doesn’t need a little cheese with their “whine” or vice versa.
And the whole whine and cheese analogy… perfectly fitting the girl who loves actual wine and cheese… the sweet taste of Moscato with the perfect balance of swiss… or really any variety of cheeses and occassionally a Riesling instead of Moscato…now I’m rambling when really all I needed to say is… I love wine and cheese.
Welcome to my blog of randomness…
