What is pleasure? The things we enjoy participating in? The things that make us feel good, relaxed, content, at peace? Is it a moment that brings us happiness?

Pleasure comes from the things our heart desires. The things our mind finds peace and contentment in. They are the things that make us sigh deeply, let go of stress, smile, laugh, enjoy, and love.

Pleasure comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. It is a book, a TV show, a puzzle, a word game, social media, watching or playing sports, pets, children, helping others, love, driving, the wind in your hair, music, friendship, time…
The list goes on.

Reflecting on the variety of meanings that represent pleasure – I have to wonder…

Why is there such a fine line between pleasure and pain?
Are we destined to walk that line performing a balancing act for a lifetime?

This post is in response to the daily prompt pleasure.
